Comment: I think you should try to add section on female hairstyles in the military. There are a lot of rules and restrictions on hairstyles and it's hard for a woman to do much with her hair and still be under regulations. I personally get tired of the same hairstyle day after day. The only thing I can do with my hair is put it in a bun. I've been looking online to try to find ideas for different kinds of hairstyles that would be within regs and would work with the different kinds of caps, but to no avail.

Comment: I was in the Air Force from 1972 to 1975 as a Reporter and Broadcasts Journalist and was stationed at Fairchild AFB, in Spokane, Washington and the 475th Air Base Wing in Yokota, Japan. I met and married my husband of almost 30 years while stationed at Fairchild AFB. I am a Charter Member at the Women's Memorial in Washington D.C. I just became a member of the World War II Memorial and was thrilled and honored to be able to have my father, who was a Marine and fought at Iowa Jima, added to the list of names to be included in the World War II Memorial in D.C.
I would love to find any of the women that I went through basic training with or was stationed with at Fairchild AFB in 1973.

My letters and information has already been passed into the Subcommitties on VA Health and Benifits we need letters to make them actually find time to read the information and act on it. ************* Letters needed to help female veterans with endometriosis: If you know 10 women you more than likely know a woman suffering from endometriosis. The same holds true of women that have served in the military. The VA however refuses to acknowledge Endometriosis as a chronic disease ( Even though the 1999 World congress on Endometriosis states very clearly it is a chronic condition)so all those women found to have cysts or PID while in service and then years later that learned they have and had endometriosis guess what the Congressional Veteran's Affairs committee is allowing the VA to keep them from getting disablity and free medical care owed. Please help those women that served in the military fax (Fax number for Chairman Smith 202-225-5486) a letter today to Chairman Christopher Smith Congressional committiee on Veteran's Affairs demanding that the VA consider endometriosis a chronic disease BY LAW and that female veterans that were not allowed laparoscopes while on active duty be allowed to submit laparoscopes from first diagnosis. Also endometriosis has several THEORIES about it's cause to include Dioxins like those found in CS gas and burned medical waste. This causes a link for the condition to military service. The mean civilian time time for proper diagnosis for endometriosis is 9.28 years. we would really like to see what it is for military women going through the Active Military and Veteran's health care systems. In your letter to Chairman Smith please include the following. your name and congressperson's name a contact item such as address or phone number The letter should state that endometriosis is a chronic condition with no known cause and must be considered as such by the Veteran's Administration in accordance with House Concurent Resolution 291dated December 18,2001. Also note that laparoscopes are not being given to females in the miltiary or cilvian world in a timely manner to diagnose the disease and therefore the requirement for a laparoscope while in service is not to be an issue if a laproscope was not given until after exit from the military. Also request that the Committiee investigate the statistics of females that have been denied disablity for endometriosis and the reasons for denial.Fax number for Chairman Smith 202-225-5486 PLEASE HELP US with pressure from others in this issue we will also have a better chance. In Boot we were told: To do well you must, "Act like a lady;
Think like a man; and work like a horse!" To young women thinking
about joining: There alot of men you will be meeting..we were told
to stay out of trouble, "keep your skirt down and your legs
crossed!" I followed the advice. Kept out of trouble. Met some
wonderful people. Traveled. Worked at some great commands.
Would do it again. The Military is a wonderful adventure.
